Colour: deep, dense cherry-red.
Aroma: fresh red and black fruits, spices such as vanilla, cinnamon and hints of cloves.
Flavour: a broad, swift progress with great volume and a rich balance. It has great character, bearing witness to the strength and elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and displaying some delectable black-chocolaty tannins from the Cabernet Franc. It finishes with the sour-cherry freshness associated with Carignan and a slightly smoky feel from the Syrah.
Match food: small game, streaky red meats, duck, lamb from the Magellan Straits and sheep's milk cheeses.
