Once again, Viña Morandé reaffirms its leadership on the Chilean and international wine scene, receiving outstanding scores from renowned American wine critic James Suckling. With all wines reviewed scoring over 90 points, these accolades are a testament to the winery’s unwavering commitment to excellence, quality, and winemaking innovation.
Among the highlights is the debut vintage of El Cabernet de Ránquil 2021, which made an impressive entrance with 98 points. The wine was praised for its mineral, chalky mouthfeel, precise tannins, and naturally concentrated fruit. “It shows great balance, making it enjoyable now but also promising excellent aging potential,” noted Suckling’s team, led by senior editor Zekun Shuai.
Another standout was Casatinta, an elegant blend of Malbec, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc, which earned 96 points for its depth, mineral aromas, superfine tannins, and vibrant acidity. Part of Morandé’s most innovative portfolio, Casatinta reaffirms the winery’s expertise in crafting unique blends.
Excellence continued with House of Morandé 2022 and Black Series Pinot Noir 2024, both awarded 95 points, praised for their varietal expression and sophistication. Meanwhile, Black Series Chardonnay 2023, Golden Harvest 2013, and Tirazis 2022 received 94 points, showcasing consistency and character across different varietals and styles.
In addition, Vitis Única Chardonnay 2023, Terroir Wines Cinsault País 2024, and Vitis Única Pinot Noir 2023 each earned 92 points, cementing the line’s reputation as a true expression of Chilean terroir and meticulous cellar work.
In total, ten wines were evaluated—all receiving exceptional ratings—confirming the high standards that define Viña Morandé and its versatility in crafting memorable wines.
These results are not only a source of pride but also a motivation to continue elevating Viña Morandé’s name both in Chile and abroad. The consistent quality recognized by international critics firmly positions the winery as a benchmark on the global wine map.
