EL PADRE OF MORANDÉ ADVENTURE

Something that has been very characteristic of Morandé and my time in charge of the elaboration of its wines is that we like to honor our origins. We have dedicated ourselves for many years to studying the grape varieties, terroirs, and how to represent these important factors in each of our creations.

The Morandé Adventure line has been a faithful reflection of that. These are wines made without rules, seeking to surprise with their diversity, innovation, and quality. They are bold wines with which we have tried to reinterpret the Chilean wine heritage, our beloved and great origin.

One that I am particularly passionate about is El Padre, a Cabernet Franc from the Maipo Valley with which we seek to pay tribute to this beautiful grape. Little is said about Cabernet Franc, but its presence has been crucial in world viticulture. It is one of the most planted grape varieties globally, and when naturally blended with Sauvignon Blanc, it gave birth to Cabernet Sauvignon, probably the most recognized grape variety in the world. Hence the origin of the name of this wine: El Padre (The Father).

With El Padre, we wanted to craft a Cabernet Franc that could accurately and lucidly demonstrate the character of the variety. At the same time, it serves as a tribute to the silent but fundamental role this grape has played in the development of the wine world in Chile.

El Padre represents the elegance of the Maipo Valley, with a strong presence of red and black fruits, slightly herbaceous notes, the presence of spices, and a distinctive menthol touch from its terroir. With this wine, we aim to showcase its great potential through a complex, well-structured, and elegant wine that exhibits the full character and imprint of this grape variety.
