Morandé Sparkling Wines

The story of how we began making sparkling wines is truly worthy of our vineyard. With the same audacity that Pablo Morandé had over 40 years ago when he decided to invest in the Casablanca Valley, a little over 17 years ago, convinced of the quality of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from that valley, he set the goal of making the best sparkling wine in Chile.

Following the traditional methodology of extended aging – between 24 and 54 months – and then carrying out the second fermentation in the bottle, Morandé created his first sparkling wine, Blanc de Noir, a delightful sparkling wine with fine and persistent bubbles. Truly a luxurious sparkling wine.

Before long, we wanted to expand our options and thought of using the noble and rustic Pais grape. With it, we created our K.O sparkling wine, also in the traditional method, but this time, with only 6 months of aging. With K.O, we aimed to enjoy a simpler and more direct sparkling wine, with all the benefits of the champenoise method: a fine perlage of small bubbles, well integrated with the wine.

To the portfolio of Blanc de Noir and K.O, Brut Nature was also added, a wine of craftsmanship, tradition, and great respect for the time of the processes. Coming from our vineyards in Casablanca, it is made with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and is a sparkling wine with structure, elegant balance of flavors, and sharp bubbles.

Extra Brut is also part of the line. It is a 100% Chardonnay sparkling wine from the Casablanca Valley, produced in the traditional method. It has a fine and persistent bubble with slow release and a dense body with delightful freshness and balanced flavors.

Finally, there is Charmat, a 100% Chardonnay sparkling wine from the Limarí Valley. This terroir provides great minerality and limestone character, contributing sustained acidity and unparalleled aromas. It is a sparkling wine made with the Charmat method, presenting a fine, persistent, and voluminous bubble.

We hope to continue the path that Pablo Morandé showed us and, in doing so, create the best high-end sparkling wines in Chile. This demonstrates that knowledge, respect for the necessary times in each stage of the process, and also the origin of the grapes, are the key to a great wine, especially for those exceptional sparkling wines.
